An R.D.H.A.P. is a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice.
I provide dental hygiene care and preventative services on-site in adult and special needs day-care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals, group homes, Board and care homes, and private residences. I utilize sterilized portable dental equipment to deliver my treatment in a familiar and comfortable environment.
An R.D.H.A.P. (Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice), is a fairly new category of a health professional passed through California law that allows Dental Hygienists’ with advanced training to provide specific preventive procedures to the underserved population outside of a traditional dental office. I have over 27 years of experience in private practice as a dental hygienist and hold two California State Licenses, one of which required post-graduate specialized training for physically/mentally disabled and frail elderly individuals.
I believe all people should have access to quality dental care, especially if they are challenged physically or emotionally. The burden of accessing care may cause the patient anxiety and stress, which could otherwise complicate or aggravate medical conditions. I make it easy and safe by bringing the care to the patient where they are most comfortable.
Mobile dental hygiene services allow for prevention of disease in the teeth, gums, and supportive tissues in the mouth, as well as contribute to whole-body wellness by reducing bacteria in the oral cavity which can further complicate other underlying medical issues.
I am a member of American Dental Hygienists’ Association, California Dental Hygienists’ Association, and the San Diego Dental Hygienists’ Society.
